Having been a closet artist all of my early life, I finally took  my first official art class, basic drawing, in college while majoring in physical education. I loved the class so much, I changed my lifelong career to art. I've never regretted it. Colored pencils and ink have always intrigued me. I can take them with me, even snowshoeing or hiking in the mountains, with little fuss. I add my original poetry to my drawings to add depth to the message. Look for some hidden symbolism in each drawing - fun way to add surprise and lightheartedness.

The poetry drawings are a way I can combine drawing and writing, all in the same image. The words and images are created with the energy of hope - all are infused with positive, colorful, and insightful thoughts. I love symbolism to get to a deeper level of meaning and make if fun for the viewer.

I created the animal drawings after a friend led me through an animal medicine wheel ritual. Relating to the spiritual and physical attributes of animals just clicked and I've never tired of learning more from the ancient wise people who were so connected with the workings of the earth. Each drawing has a short of the animal and a symbolic drawing.

Living next to open space in Boulder County has made it
possible for me to take in the color, tone and mystery of nature. Great horned owls, coyotes, foxes, deer, bear, and bobcats have crossed my deck and I am grateful for their influences.
